What you will drive

  • Lead and align the organization's legal strategies related to voting and civil rights across federal, state, and local levels.
  • Provide strategic oversight, mentorship, and management to the legal team, including a Supervising Attorney and junior attorneys.
  • Assess evolving jurisprudence to identify strategic litigation opportunities and threats, and translate organizational priorities into actionable legal plans.
  • Collaborate across departments to integrate legal thinking into programmatic, policy, and communications strategies.

Profile

What makes you a great fit

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school; active U.S. bar membership required (federal court admission preferred).
  • Minimum 10–12 years of progressively responsible legal experience, ideally in civil rights, election law, constitutional, or voting rights contexts.
  • Demonstrated experience leading attorneys and managing legal teams; proven record of strategic legal leadership advising executives strongly preferred.
  • Strong coaching orientation, exceptional strategic judgment, and ability to synthesize complex legal issues into mission-driven solutions.
