How to Apply for Digital Marketing Director

at Project Slingshot

🏢 About Project Slingshot

Project Slingshot is a global nonprofit with a bold mission to end factory farming, using disruptive campaigns and digital mobilization to challenge the status quo of animal agriculture. Working here means joining a passionate, remote-first team that values creativity, urgency, and measurable impact in the fight for animal welfare. If you want your marketing skills to drive real-world change, this is the place.

About This Role

As the Digital Marketing Director, you will own the US digital strategy, leading high-impact campaigns across social media, paid media (especially META), email, and CRM to mobilize supporters and convert donors. You’ll also build and mentor a Digital Marketing & Social Media Manager, ensuring bold storytelling and seamless collaboration with the global team. This role is pivotal in scaling Project Slingshot’s reach and accelerating the movement to end factory farming.

💡 A Day in the Life

A typical day might involve reviewing performance data from a META ad campaign, collaborating with your Social Media Manager on content for an upcoming action, and refining an email automation sequence to boost donor retention. You’ll also touch base with global colleagues to align on messaging and might spend time mentoring your team member on a new segmentation strategy. Expect a fast-paced, mission-driven environment where creativity and data go hand in hand.

🎯 Who Project Slingshot Is Looking For

  • 5+ years of digital marketing or campaign strategy experience, with a strong focus on paid social (META) and cause-driven or advocacy organizations.
  • Proven track record of designing and executing disruptive digital campaigns that drive engagement and donor conversion, ideally in animal advocacy or similar social justice spaces.
  • Experience leading segmented email marketing, CRM automations, and supporter journeys using platforms like EveryAction, HubSpot, or similar.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and manage a team, with excellent collaboration skills for working with global, remote colleagues.
