Minds Matter operates 14 chapters across the nation. ROLE DESCRIPTION Minds Matter National is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Development Associate to support and expand the capacity of our Development team. This role will serve as a key partner to the Chief Development Officer (CDO). The Development Associate will ensure the CDO is maximally effective by managing priorities, communications, and scheduling, while also owning critical back-end fundraising processes including donor stewardship systems, data integrity, reporting, and financial reconciliation. This is an ideal role for someone who is excited to build systems, improve processes, and play a central role in advancing a growing national fundraising function. Executive & Development Support Manage the Chief Development Officer’s calendar, scheduling, and prioritization of time Track follow-ups, deadlines, and key donor touchpoints to ensure strong relationship management Prepare briefing materials for meetings, donor engagements, and events Support internal coordination across teams to advance development priorities Coordinate closely with the Assistant to the CEO to effectively leverage CEO’s time Donor Operations & Stewardship Manage and execute donor acknowledgment processes, including thank-you letters and stewardship touch points Ensure accuracy, completeness, and standardization of donor records in Salesforce Maintain donor lists, contact reports, and outreach tracking to support fundraising efforts Data, Systems & Reporting Collaborate with Operations Associate to produce regular development reports, dashboards, and analyses to support decision-making Identify opportunities to improve workflows, automate processes, and enhance efficiency Research and recommend tools and systems to strengthen Development operations Financial Reconciliation & Gift Processing Reconcile donation records with financial systems to ensure accuracy Track and process donations, including pass-through gifts to chapters Support revenue tracking, forecasting, and reporting Ensure proper donor attribution and compliance with internal processes Prospect Research & Development Projects Conduct prospect research and develop funder profiles Support pipeline development and portfolio management Assist with special projects to expand Development strategy Events & Communications Support Provide logistical and on-site support for donor events and engagements Assist with organizational communications, including proofreading, content preparation, and posting OTHER QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree Passionate about the Minds Matter mission and the organization’s values of community, commitment, and growth Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM strongly preferred Previous success working remotely full-time preferred Able to manage complex tasks and multiple projects and timelines Previous administrative experience preferred Is extremely organized, hyper-attentive to detail, responsive, and reliable Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively WORK ENVIRONMENT This role is fully remote with possible domestic travel 6‒10 days a year. All members of the Minds Matter staff work a four-day workweek from Tuesday to Friday, including meeting outside of standard hours (including Saturdays and evenings) when necessary. As the supervisor for this role is located on the East Coast, the Development Associate must be available to work between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm ET. Preference will be given to individuals who live in New York City or New Jersey. Please note that this role requires the employee to be located within the United States. We are unable to consider applicants residing outside of the United States at this time.
