Data Protection Specialist - 5 Month Fixed Term Contract

• Manage the Jira intake for all data privacy queries, requests for information, and marketing content reviews, ensuring correct triage and closure.
• Conduct privacy assessments and Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) using a risk-based triage model.
• Handle privacy incidents and breaches, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Contribute to process improvement, including simplifying DPIA templates and developing the Record of Processing Activities (RoPA).

This role ensures that OVO Energy handles customer data responsibly and in compliance with regulations, building trust and enabling the company to focus on its mission of solving the climate crisis.

• Deep subject matter expertise of GDPR and associated regulations with hands-on experience in DPIAs, data subject rights, and incident management.
• Proven skills in translating complex legislation into clear business-focused guidance.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities, with experience using privacy management software like OneTrust and request-tracking systems like Jira Service Desk.
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities, work autonomously, and collaborate effectively.

Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 per year, plus 15% on-target bonus and 9% Flex Pay (4% auto-enrolled into pension, 5% flexible).
