at 350.org

🏢 About 350.org

350.org is a global grassroots movement fighting climate change, operating in over 188 countries. It’s unique for its decentralized, people-powered approach and commitment to justice-centered climate action. Working here means contributing to a mission that directly impacts the planet’s future, while collaborating with a passionate, global team.

About This Role

As Data & Analytics Manager, you’ll lead 350’s data strategy, own the BigQuery data warehouse, and drive BI/reporting with Metabase. Your work will empower the organization with actionable insights for climate campaigns, fundraising, and operations. This role is critical to scaling data-driven decision-making across a distributed, mission-driven team.

💡 A Day in the Life

Most of your day will involve collaborating with campaign, fundraising, and ops teams to define data needs, then diving into BigQuery to model data and build Metabase dashboards. You’ll also review Salesforce data quality, mentor staff in self-serve analytics, and participate in global team standups across time zones. Expect a mix of deep technical work and strategic conversations.

🎯 Who 350.org Is Looking For

  • 6+ years leading org-wide data strategy, ideally in a nonprofit or mission-driven environment, with experience translating data into actionable KPIs.
  • Hands-on expert in Google BigQuery: data modeling, cost optimization, access controls, and performance tuning.
  • Proficient with Metabase for dashboarding and Salesforce for CRM governance, with a track record of building self-serve reporting.
  • Advanced SQL skills, with a focus on writing efficient, maintainable queries and mentoring others in data literacy.

📝 Tips for Applying to 350.org

1

Highlight any experience in climate or social justice organizations—even volunteer work—to show alignment with 350’s mission.

2

In your resume, list specific projects where you built BigQuery data models and Metabase dashboards, including impact metrics like query performance improvements or user adoption.

3

Tailor your cover letter to reference 350’s global structure and how your data strategy would support decentralized teams across time zones.

4

If you have experience with ELT pipelines (e.g., dbt, Airflow) or data governance frameworks, emphasize them as they are key to the role.

5

Show you understand the importance of data democratization—mention how you’ve trained non-technical staff to use self-serve analytics.
