Counsel (Early Career)

• Research, draft, and edit pleadings, motions, and other briefs in impact litigation related to protecting democracy.
• Participate in discovery, including fact-finding, document review, witness interviews, and depositions.
• Develop legal strategies and innovative arguments for litigation, policy reform, and advocacy projects.
• Collaborate with communications and policy teams to advance integrated advocacy strategies.

This role directly defends democratic institutions and electoral integrity against authoritarian threats, ensuring free and fair elections for all Americans.

• 1-5 years of legal experience (including clerkships).
• Exceptional analytical, writing, and presentation skills for both legal and non-legal audiences.
• Ability to manage diverse responsibilities and work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Commitment to Protect Democracy's cross-ideological, nonpartisan approach.
