Contract Software Engineer

As a Contract Software Engineer at Kairos, you will:

• Build out Talent Commons, a consent-based talent database for AI safety organizations to coordinate on talent.
• Design the frontend, backend, and integrations for the participant dashboard, org query interface, and consent flows.
• Build the data model and access controls to manage sensitive career data with strong security guarantees.
• Onboard partner organisations by setting up authorised-user agreements and data ingestion systems.

This role directly supports the AI safety ecosystem by enabling organizations to coordinate on talent through a secure, consent-based platform, thereby strengthening the field's capacity to address existential risks from AI.

• Experience with full-stack development (frontend and backend).
• Proficiency in data modeling and access controls for sensitive data.
• Familiarity with AI coding tools like Claude Code and Cursor.
• Ability to work independently and manage integrations with partner systems.
