Mission

What you will drive

The Opportunity
The Communications Consultant will support the Director of Communications with a range of communications needs. This role involves content creation to deliver high-quality, timely, and impactful communications.

Scope of Work
NetHope is seeking a creative, collaborative, and proven communications professional to support the organization’s external communications to amplify NetHope’s mission. Essential projects include communications support for the NetHope Global Summit and general communications management and support from September through December 2026.

Deliverables:

NetHope Global Summit

  • Publish text edits to www.nethopeglobalsummit.org via Cvent as requested. Prepare for post-event updates to website reflecting post-event details, create email interest list form via Campaign Monitor, and when 2027 look and feel has been solidified, update website to reflect. Previous year event templates are available as an example.
  • Manage asset creation of in-person signage to ensure strong NetHope brand presence, meet sponsorship deliverables, and provide a smooth attendee experience in collaboration with Director of Communications and graphic designer.
  • Manage the launch and updates to the Attendee Hub via Cvent. The Attendee Hub is for registered attendees and the main source of information flow.
  • Work with Director of Communications and designer to upload assets and event copy to Attendee Hub via Cvent.
  • Work with Director of Communications to create and implement display ad and notification schedule. During the event, monitor these notifications and ads to be sure they are publishing correctly.
  • Add 2027 banner and graphic to the Attendee Hub following 2027 announcement.
  • Text edits to page as requested
  • Utilizing Campaign Monitor (general email marketing) and Cvent (registered attendees), create and send email blasts pre and post event to increase registration and inform, engage, and thank attendees during the event. 2025 event is available as a template.
  • General email marketing blasts
  • Registered attendee emails (potentially segmented audiences of in-person and virtual) include: Know Before You Go Emails; Summit Daily: October 26, October 27, October 28, October 29, and November 3 (approximate dates)
  • Plan, schedule, and publish social media leading using Metricool up to, during, and after Summit. Incorporate photos from event photographer. As Summit is NetHope's major flagship moment, use the momentum and visibility of the Summit to incorporate thought leadership during and post Summit for the organization to advance key initiatives.
  • Potential to launch paid social media campaign to increase registration.
  • Review photos uploaded twice daily by photographer, add appropriate photos to highlight gallery on a rolling basis, communicate with Director of Communications if additional direction or variety of photos are needed during review. Highlight gallery should be promoted on a rolling basis during the event. The gallery will be displayed during the Community Celebration (Weds, Oct 28).
  • Working with Director of Communications, develop a plan to collect quotes from speakers and/or attendees for inclusion in communications. NetHope staff can pre-engage Board and Summit committee and/or Main Stage content is live broadcasted and consultant or dedicated NetHope staff can also be assigned to support the consultant in doing so.
  • Working with the Senior Manager of Philanthropic Partnerships activate all remaining communications-related sponsor benefits.
  • Monitor Slack, social media, and other sources for testimonials. Source approval for use in future communications.
  • Due to the nature of hosting a live event and the communications function, consultant must be available October 23 through November 5 and overlap with CET (Amsterdam) time zone, so dependable workflow can be established.
  • In collaboration with Director of Communications, Senior Manager of Philanthropic Partnerships, and graphic designer, facilitate the design of the 2027 Sponsorship Prospectus (November-December).

General Communications Management (November-December)

  • Triage in-bound communication needs via the Communications Request Form and Editorial Calendar in Asana.
  • Develop approval workflow with Director of Communications for ease of publication.
  • Collaborate in relevant program-communications Slack channels regarding communication requests and provide frequent status updates via Slack and/or Zoom meetings as needed.
  • Provide communications expertise, copywriting or copy editing support, liaise with web developer and graphic designer for relevant needs.
  • Plan and publish social media.
  • Plan and publish monthly newsletter.
  • General website management (including home page content refresh periodically, blog posts, minor text edits, document uploads, etc.) working with web developer. NetHope’s website is on WordPress.
  • Liaise and manage any paid media/social media advertising needs. This is anticipated to be minimal for general NetHope communications.
  • Manage project queues for web developer and graphic designer and funnel relevant projects through iteration, approvals, and publication. Canva is also available for social media graphics.
  • Attend weekly meetings with Director of Communications to share progress updates and coordinate upcoming needs. Weekly progress reports and handover transition documentation required.
  • Participate in regular communications meetings and team communications via Slack and other mediums.
