How to Apply for Co-Founder, CTO, Construction Operations
at Marble
🏢 About Marble
Marble is an innovative venture focused on slashing emissions and cooling the planet through deeptech climate solutions. They are building an AI-native operating system for construction micro-businesses, aiming to transform a traditionally low-tech industry. If you want to apply cutting-edge AI to real-world climate impact, Marble offers a unique mission-driven environment.
About This Role
As Co-Founder and CTO, you will own the technical vision and architecture for an AI-powered OS targeting construction micro-businesses. You'll write production code across the full stack, build and lead the engineering team, and drive technical narratives for fundraising. This role is impactful because you'll shape both the product and the company from the ground up, directly contributing to decarbonizing construction.
💡 A Day in the Life
Your day might start with a standup with the engineering team, reviewing PRs and discussing AI agent performance. Mid-morning, you'll jump into code, perhaps building a new data pipeline or debugging a cloud deployment. Afternoons could involve a call with potential investors about technical strategy, followed by a user research session with a construction contractor to understand their workflow pain points. You'll end the day by planning the next sprint and reviewing architecture decisions.

🎯 Who Marble Is Looking For
- You have a strong software engineering background with experience shipping multi-tenant SaaS and production systems end-to-end, ideally in a startup context.
- You are an expert in Python backend development (APIs, data pipelines) and production AI (RAG, structured output, evaluation), and you're comfortable deploying on cloud infrastructure like Supabase, Cloudflare, or AWS.
- You are outcome-driven, thrive in ambiguity, and can communicate technical vision to both investors and tradespeople without jargon.
- You have experience hiring and leading engineering teams, setting culture, and defining technical strategy in a fast-paced environment.
📝 Tips for Applying to Marble
Highlight specific projects where you built and deployed AI agent workflows or multi-tenant SaaS systems end-to-end, including metrics on performance or impact.
Showcase your experience with Python backend and cloud infrastructure (mention Supabase, Cloudflare, or AWS explicitly) and how you've used them in production.
Demonstrate your ability to communicate with non-technical stakeholders by including examples of how you explained technical concepts to investors or end-users.
Emphasize any experience in construction or climate tech, even if tangential, to show domain interest.
Include a brief paragraph on your vision for how AI can transform construction micro-businesses, referencing Marble's mission.

- → Familiarize yourself with AI agent frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar, and how they apply to operational workflows.
- → Look into Marble's funding history and investor base to understand their growth stage and expectations.
💬 Prepare for These Interview Topics
Based on this role, you may be asked about:
⚠️ Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Focusing too much on theoretical AI without showing production experience or understanding of deployment challenges.
- Underestimating the importance of communicating with non-technical stakeholders (tradespeople, investors) – avoid jargon-heavy responses.
- Not demonstrating a founder mindset: be prepared to discuss trade-offs between speed, quality, and resource constraints.
