How to Apply for Cloud Platform Architect (68020)

at HITACHI ENERGY

🏢 About HITACHI ENERGY

Hitachi Energy is at the forefront of advancing sustainable energy systems towards a carbon-neutral future. As a global leader in energy technology, they combine deep industry expertise with a commitment to innovation, making them an ideal place for engineers passionate about leveraging cloud platforms to drive renewable energy and grid modernization.

About This Role

As a Cloud Platform Architect, you will lead the design and operational excellence of Hitachi Energy's cloud platform across private and public clouds. Your work directly enables scalable, secure, and efficient energy solutions by automating infrastructure lifecycle management and mentoring a team of cloud engineers.

💡 A Day in the Life

A typical day might start with a stand-up with your two cloud engineers to review progress on IaC modules. You'll then dive into designing a new Terraform module for a hybrid cloud deployment, followed by an architecture review meeting to ensure alignment with sustainability goals. The afternoon could involve troubleshooting a Kubernetes scaling issue and mentoring a junior engineer on best practices.

🎯 Who HITACHI ENERGY Is Looking For

  • A seasoned cloud engineer with 7+ years of experience, including 3+ years in a senior/lead role, who has hands-on expertise in Terraform (strongly preferred) and multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, or VMware).
  • Deep experience with Kubernetes (EKS/AKS/GKE) and container orchestration, with a track record of designing and automating end-to-end infrastructure lifecycle management.
  • A collaborative leader who enjoys mentoring engineers, establishing coding standards, and conducting architecture reviews to drive knowledge sharing.
  • Passionate about sustainability and eager to apply cloud architecture skills to advance carbon-neutral energy systems.

📝 Tips for Applying to HITACHI ENERGY

1

Highlight your Terraform expertise: Provide specific examples of IaC projects where you designed and implemented cloud provisioning at scale.

2

Emphasize multi-cloud experience: Showcase projects involving at least two major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS and Azure) and how you integrated them.

3

Quantify your impact: Use metrics to demonstrate how your infrastructure automation improved efficiency, reduced costs, or enhanced reliability.

4

Mention Kubernetes deeply: Detail your experience with EKS/AKS/GKE, including cluster management, scaling, and security.

5

Tailor your resume to sustainability: Connect your cloud work to energy or sustainability projects, even if indirectly, to align with Hitachi Energy's mission.
