HITACHI ENERGY
About HITACHI ENERGY
Hitachi Energy is a global leader in power grid technologies, advancing a sustainable energy future through HVDC, grid automation, and high-voltage products. Working here means contributing directly to the energy transition, with a focus on innovation and carbon-neutral solutions. The company offers a collaborative, purpose-driven environment where your work powers communities and supports renewable integration.
About the role
As a Civil Construction Technical Site Advisor, you will be the on-site technical authority for civil works on major HVDC projects, ensuring construction is safe, efficient, and compliant with project specs. You'll collaborate with site management, engineering, quality, and HSE teams to guide critical decisions during construction, installation, and handover. This role is pivotal in delivering large-scale energy infrastructure that enables the transition to clean energy.
A typical day
A typical day might involve reviewing construction plans and quality reports remotely, then coordinating with site teams via video calls to resolve technical issues. You could also conduct virtual inspections, update risk assessments, and participate in meetings with engineering and HSE to ensure alignment. Occasionally, you might travel to the Rotterdam site to provide hands-on technical advice and support critical phases.
Who HITACHI ENERGY is looking for
- Bachelor's or Master's in Civil Engineering or related field, with 5+ years of site experience on large industrial or energy projects.

- Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and experience coordinating with multiple stakeholders including customers and contractors.
- Excellent communication skills in English; Dutch is a plus, along with willingness to work remotely and travel to site as needed.
