Chief Financial Officer for Borealis Philanthropy

• Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO and senior leadership team, translating financial insights into actionable strategies that support Borealis's mission and long-term growth.
• Lead the development of annual operating, capital, and program budgets, oversee multi-year financial planning, and track key financial and operational metrics.
• Oversee all finance and accounting functions, including general ledger, payroll, grants accounting, and ensure accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Manage cash, investments, and risk, including developing investment policies and ensuring compliance with regulations and funder requirements.

This role ensures the financial health and sustainability of Borealis Philanthropy, enabling the organization to effectively channel resources to grassroots movements and advance justice and inclusive democracy.

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field required; advanced degree (MBA, MPA) preferred.
• CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification strongly preferred.
• Deep knowledge of nonprofit finance, GAAP, fund accounting, and regulatory compliance.
• Strong strategic, analytical, and leadership skills with excellent communication abilities.

Salary band: $175,000 - $263,000 (offers start between minimum and midpoint). Full-time, exempt position. Remote work environment with no required travel. Commitment to disability, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
