How to Apply for Brand Designer
at Afresh Technologies
🏢 About Afresh Technologies
Afresh is an AI platform purpose-built for the fresh food supply chain, helping grocers like Albertsons, Meijer, and Wakefern reduce food waste and optimize decisions across their entire enterprise. With 70% revenue growth in 2025, 6 enterprise-grade solutions, and over 200 million pounds of food waste prevented last year, Afresh offers a rare chance to combine cutting-edge AI with massive social and environmental impact.
About This Role
As Afresh's first dedicated in-house Brand Designer, you'll own the visual brand across all marketing and sales enablement materials—web, video, campaigns, and more. Embedded in day-to-day workstreams, you'll partner with marketing leadership and content strategists to translate strategy into production-ready visuals that scale with the company's rapid growth.
💡 A Day in the Life
You might start your day with a quick sync with the content strategist to align on visuals for a new campaign, then dive into designing web assets and a short video for a product launch. Later, you'd review feedback from marketing leadership, iterate on sales enablement materials, and update brand templates to ensure consistency across all channels—all while collaborating remotely with a distributed team.
🚀 Application Tools
🎯 Who Afresh Technologies Is Looking For
- 3–5 years of brand design experience, ideally in B2B SaaS or enterprise tech, with a portfolio showing end-to-end ownership of visual identity across web, video, and sales collateral.
- Proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and motion/video editing tools (e.g., After Effects, Premiere Pro), plus familiarity with designing for web (Webflow, HTML/CSS basics) and marketing automation platforms.
- Strong collaboration skills—able to work closely with content strategists and marketing leadership, absorbing context across projects rather than executing isolated requests.
- A systems thinker who can build and maintain scalable brand guidelines, templates, and asset libraries for a fast-growing, remote-first team.
- Passion for Afresh's mission to reduce food waste and transform the grocery industry, with a knack for making complex AI concepts visually accessible.
📝 Tips for Applying to Afresh Technologies
Tailor your portfolio to highlight B2B SaaS or enterprise brand design work—include examples of how you've owned a brand across web, video, and sales enablement, not just one-off graphics.
In your resume or cover letter, explicitly mention experience with tools like Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and any motion/video editing software, as Afresh needs someone who can handle production-ready assets across formats.
Reference Afresh's mission and recent milestones (e.g., 70% revenue growth, 200M pounds of food waste prevented) to show you've researched the company and understand its scale and impact.
Demonstrate your ability to work in a fast-paced, remote-first environment by highlighting past projects where you collaborated asynchronously with cross-functional teams and managed multiple workstreams.
If you have experience building or maintaining brand systems and templates, emphasize it—this role is about owning the visual brand long-term, not just executing ad-hoc requests.
✉️ What to Emphasize in Your Cover Letter
["Your specific experience as an in-house brand designer for a B2B tech company, especially if you've been the first dedicated design hire or built brand systems from scratch.", "How you've partnered with content strategists and marketing leaders to translate messaging into compelling visual stories across web, video, and sales enablement.", 'Your technical proficiency with design and video tools, and your ability to produce production-ready assets efficiently in a remote, collaborative setting.', "Your connection to Afresh's mission—why reducing food waste and transforming the fresh food supply chain matters to you, and how you'd bring that passion to the brand."]

💬 Prepare for These Interview Topics
Based on this role, you may be asked about:
⚠️ Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Submitting a portfolio that only shows static graphics or personal projects—Afresh needs someone who can design for web, video, and sales enablement in a B2B context.
- Ignoring the remote-first, embedded nature of the role—avoid implying you prefer isolated work or one-off projects; emphasize your ability to collaborate asynchronously and carry context across workstreams.
- Overlooking the mission—Afresh is driven by reducing food waste and transforming the food supply chain; failing to connect your design work to that purpose will make you seem like a poor cultural fit.
