BESS Business Development Director – Utilities (East Region)

• Drive revenue growth by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities in the Direct-to-Utility space, including regulated/non-regulated utilities, Munis, CCAs, and non-developer/non-IPP entities in the USA.
• Develop and execute business development strategies to achieve revenue targets and market penetration goals, while managing a full sales cycle from research and cold-calling to contract negotiation and account conversion.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product development, delivery, customer success, software engineers, and electrical engineers to ensure optimal deal structuring and project partnerships.

This role accelerates the adoption of battery energy storage solutions, enabling grid decarbonization and renewable energy integration, directly contributing to climate change mitigation and a sustainable energy future.

• Minimum of 5 years of working experience, with at least 2 years in sales or business development, and a strong track record of achieving sales targets with utility companies in the distributed energy space.
• In-depth understanding of the utility space and industry trends, with experience in electric power, renewable energy (solar, wind, battery), industrial communication, or electrical service.
• Minimum BS degree in engineering or technical field; high proficiency with Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM programs (e.g., Salesforce).
• Existing relationships with key stakeholders in the utility sector; ability to travel ~50%+ to customers and project sites.
