Mission
What you will drive
- Lead NCLC's bankruptcy-related advocacy, including legislative, agency, and rules-based efforts to improve bankruptcy laws and increase accessibility for low-income people.
- Train consumer advocates, provide technical assistance on individual cases, and update bankruptcy-related chapters of NCLC's manuals.
- Write public-facing reports, issue briefs, and articles; engage in research, policy advocacy, and public speaking.
- Participate in advocacy teams on intersecting issues like student loans, debt collection, credit reporting, auto lending, and homeownership.

Profile
What makes you a great fit
- Law degree from an accredited law school and bar admission in good standing in at least one state.
- At least 5 years of consumer bankruptcy litigation experience; experience representing low-income consumers preferred.
- Strong legal, analytical, writing, public speaking, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to racial justice and advocating for equity for low-income and marginalized communities.
