Backend Engineer

• Collaborate internationally with Octopus Energy ES and global teams to develop and integrate new features for the website and mobile app.
• Own key product modules including private area, bill management, saving sessions, customer onboarding optimization, and marketing dashboards.
• Drive fast-paced impact by delivering code that directly affects customers, adapting to real-world needs with quick feedback cycles.
• Thrive in an agile culture with flat hierarchies and an open environment fostering innovation and creativity.

By building high-impact MVPs and delivering code that directly improves customer experience and internal operations, this role accelerates the transition to renewable energy and makes energy more accessible and fair for everyone.

• Strong professional experience building backend applications with Python.
• Solid experience with Django or equivalent robust web frameworks.
• Deep understanding of Domain Modelling and software architecture.
• Strong expertise designing and integrating GraphQL & REST APIs.
• Proven experience writing robust, fault-tolerant, and scalable software.
• Experience with Celery and asynchronous task processing.
• Solid handling of relational databases, especially PostgreSQL.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to lead complex issues from concept to production.
