How to Apply for Analytics Engineer

at Lime

🏢 About Lime

Lime is the world's largest shared micromobility company, operating electric scooters and bikes in nearly 30 countries and powering over one billion rides. As a Time 100 Most Influential Company, Lime is at the forefront of the clean transportation revolution, offering a dynamic, mission-driven environment for those passionate about sustainability and urban innovation.

About This Role

As an Analytics Engineer on Lime's Corp Tech Data & Integrations team, you'll build and scale the data infrastructure that underpins enterprise analytics, financial reporting, and real-time business intelligence. You'll work closely with Finance & Accounting to ensure data systems can withstand external audits, directly impacting Lime's ability to make data-driven decisions and maintain financial integrity.

💡 A Day in the Life

You'll start your day with a stand-up with the Corp Tech Data team, then dive into building or optimizing a dbt model to improve the accuracy of financial reports. Later, you might pair with a Finance analyst to understand a new reporting requirement, and in the afternoon, you'll review a pull request from a teammate and deploy a pipeline update to production.

🎯 Who Lime Is Looking For

  • 3+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or a similar role, with a strong focus on ETL/ELT pipeline development and data warehousing.
  • Proficiency in Python for data manipulation and automation, and expert-level SQL for performance tuning and complex transformations.
  • Hands-on experience with dbt (data build tool) and modern data stack technologies (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).
  • Familiarity with financial data and accounting principles, and experience building systems that support audit and compliance requirements.

📝 Tips for Applying to Lime

1

Highlight any experience you have with financial data or building data pipelines that support accounting or auditing processes, as this is a key aspect of the role.

2

Showcase specific projects where you used dbt and Python to build scalable data transformations, and quantify the impact (e.g., reduced pipeline runtime by X%, improved data quality).

3

Emphasize your ability to work remotely and collaborate effectively across time zones, as the role is remote but requires residence in Portugal.

4

Research Lime's data stack and mention any relevant tools you've used (e.g., Airflow, Fivetran, Looker) in your application to demonstrate alignment.

5

Tailor your resume to include keywords from the job description such as 'high-throughput ETL/ELT', 'performance-tuned transformations', and 'data governance'.
