Accountant | Remote in the United States (Central or Eastern Time Zones Only)

• Oversee accounting operations including accounts payable, payroll, general ledger maintenance, and inter-account bank transfers.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, and assist with budget development and monitoring.
• Develop and enforce internal controls, facilitate annual audit, and ensure compliance with tax filings.
• Serve as on-site finance lead during Cultural Survival's Bazaar events, managing cashier operations and vendor payouts.

This role ensures the financial integrity of an Indigenous-led NGO, enabling transparent and accountable use of resources to support Indigenous Peoples' rights and self-determination worldwide.

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, with demonstrated nonprofit accounting experience required.
• Fluency in English and Spanish required; fluency in an Indigenous language highly desirable.
• Proficiency in accounting software (Sage Intacct preferred), strong organizational and communication skills.

Salary: $60,000 - $75,000 USD annually.
