How to Apply for Working Student Tutorial Creation & Customer Training (all genders)

at envelio

🏢 About envelio

envelio is a mission-driven company at the forefront of the energy transition, developing intelligent grid solutions for a sustainable future. With a diverse, international team of over 150 employees who share a love for coffee, maté, and geek humor, the culture is collaborative and ownership-focused. Working here means contributing to a global impact while growing personally and professionally.

About This Role

As a Working Student in Tutorial Creation & Customer Training, you will design and enhance customer-facing training materials, including short 'how-to' videos and interactive click guides, to simplify complex software concepts. Collaborating closely with Customer Success Managers and the Language team, you ensure these resources are accessible in multiple languages, directly empowering customers to self-serve and succeed.

💡 A Day in the Life

A typical day might start with a stand-up with the Customer Success team to discuss upcoming training needs. You’d then edit a 'how-to' video script, record screen captures, and upload the final cut to Vimeo. Later, you’d collaborate with the Language team to review translated subtitles and update an interactive click guide based on customer feedback.

🎯 Who envelio Is Looking For

  • Strong ability to break down complex technical concepts into clear, engaging, and concise training content (e.g., videos, guides).
  • Proactive and organized, with experience managing video uploads and documentation on platforms like Vimeo or similar.
  • Detail-oriented and comfortable working with language teams to ensure consistency across multiple languages.
  • A self-starter who thrives in a remote, fast-paced environment and embodies envelio’s values: ownership, curiosity, and a love for continuous improvement.

📝 Tips for Applying to envelio

1

Highlight any experience creating instructional videos or tutorials (e.g., for software, technical topics) and include links to samples if possible.

2

Demonstrate your ability to work cross-functionally by mentioning past collaboration with teams like Customer Success, Marketing, or Language Services.

3

Show that you understand envelio’s mission—explain how your work in training supports the energy transition and customer adoption of complex software.

4

Tailor your resume to emphasize project management, video editing, and documentation skills; use keywords like 'how-to videos,' 'Vimeo,' 'interactive guides.'

5

In your cover letter, reference envelio’s culture (ownership, growth, geek humor) and explain how you align with their values, not just the job duties.

✉️ What to Emphasize in Your Cover Letter

['Your passion for making complex topics accessible and your ability to create engaging training materials for diverse audiences.', 'Specific examples of how you’ve improved customer understanding or self-service through tutorials, videos, or documentation.', 'Your experience working in multilingual environments or collaborating with language teams to ensure consistency.', 'Why envelio’s mission in the energy transition resonates with you and how you see this role contributing to that mission.']

💬 Prepare for These Interview Topics

Based on this role, you may be asked about:

1 Walk me through how you would create a 2-minute 'how-to' video for a complex software feature. What steps would you take?
2 Describe a time you had to simplify a technical concept for a non-technical audience. How did you ensure clarity?
3 How would you prioritize creating training materials when multiple Customer Success Managers request different topics?
4 Tell us about your experience with video editing tools (e.g., Camtasia, Premiere) and platforms like Vimeo. What’s your workflow?
5 How do you handle feedback from multiple stakeholders (e.g., CSMs, Language team) and ensure consistency across languages?

⚠️ Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Submitting a generic application that doesn’t reference envelio’s mission or the specific role (e.g., mentioning 'customer support' instead of 'training creation').
  • Overlooking the language aspect—failing to mention experience or willingness to work with multilingual content.
  • Focusing too much on technical skills without showing an ability to simplify and teach complex topics to non-experts.
