How to Apply for Volunteer Teacher (VT) Program Manager, Tanzania
at Educate!
🏢 About Educate!
Educate! is a high-impact youth employment organization focused on scalable solutions for Africa's youngest continent, with a proven track record of reaching over 500,000 youth across East Africa. What makes them unique is their obsession with iterative learning, their largely African staff of 300+ people, and their recognition through prestigious awards like the Klaus J. Jacobs Prize. Someone would want to work here to be part of a data-driven, growth-oriented team that's tackling youth unemployment at scale while building long-term leadership from within.
About This Role
As the Volunteer Teacher (VT) Program Manager for Tanzania, you'll be responsible for managing the remote volunteer teacher program that delivers employment-focused education to Tanzanian youth. This role is impactful because you'll directly scale Educate!'s proven model to prepare more young people—particularly marginalized rural girls and young women—to learn, earn, and thrive in today's economy through both school-based and out-of-school boot camps.
💡 A Day in the Life
A typical day might involve morning check-ins with remote volunteer teachers across Tanzania, analyzing program data to identify areas for improvement, and collaborating with the broader Educate! team to adapt training materials. You'd likely spend afternoons developing strategies to reach more marginalized rural girls, planning virtual volunteer training sessions, and documenting iterative learnings to share across the organization's East African programs.
