Volunteer Coordinator

As the organization's Volunteer Coordinator, you will be responsible for:

• Lead and support volunteer recruitment efforts and maintain a healthy volunteer pipeline
• Coordinate volunteer assignments, monitor engagement, evaluate performance, and exercise judgment in escalating performance or conflict issues
• Serve as a primary resource for member inquiries related to participation, benefits, and volunteer opportunities
• Maintain accurate, well-organized volunteer records and databases

This role supports volunteer engagement and continuity, maintaining accurate records and identifying opportunities to more effectively integrate volunteers into AAVSO's programs and operations in support of its scientific and educational mission.

What you need to be successful:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in nonprofit administration, human resources, social sciences, or a related field
• 4-6 years of experience in volunteer coordination, community engagement, member services, or a related role
• Experience working with volunteers in a distributed or remote environment
• Proficiency in written and verbal communication, strong interpersonal and organizational skills
