What you will drive

Core responsibilities:

  • Lead the Forensic Sciences department, integrating NYC and Gainesville teams into a cohesive unit
  • Oversee forensic assistance for animal cruelty and animal fighting cases, including examinations, report-writing, analysis, and testimony
  • Develop and implement strategic vision, training programs, and research initiatives aligned with organizational goals
  • Manage department operations, ensure effective collaboration with other teams, and maintain accurate case records

What makes you a great fit

Required qualifications:

  • DVM or VMD degree preferred (certification in veterinary pathology a plus) or criminal justice background
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in veterinary medicine, pathology, criminal law, or law enforcement
  • Minimum 8 years of management experience
  • Familiarity with evidentiary issues in animal cruelty prosecution and veterinary issues associated with common forms of animal cruelty

  • Without Veterinary degree: Zone 1: $186,000-$202,000, Zone 2: $204,000-$222,000, Zone 3: $225,000-$245,000
  • With Veterinary degree: Zone 1: $206,000-$223,000, Zone 2: $227,000-$245,000, Zone 3: $249,000-$265,000
