Urban Wildlands Staff Attorney

• Work with frontline communities and conservation organizations in coalitions to protect vulnerable ecosystems and oppose destructive projects.
• Identify, develop, and litigate cases and administrative actions to further campaign goals.
• Draft legal and scientific comments on proposed rules and environmental review documents.
• Advocate for conservation policies through oral testimony, policy analysis, petitions, and media outreach.

This role protects wildlife and habitats vulnerable to unsustainable development while advocating for healthy, climate-resilient communities, directly addressing key threats to biodiversity.

• Law school graduate admitted to California state bar.
• Minimum two years of civil litigation experience.
• Excellent writing, communication, research, and oral advocacy skills.
• Familiarity with environmental laws (CEQA, NEPA, APA, ESA, Clean Water Act) preferred.

Salary range: $72,500 - $89,500 per year. Remote position with preference for California locations. Dynamic, exciting, and supportive working environment. Position is in the bargaining unit.
