UNPAID VOLUNTEER - Technology Officers (Data Scientists/DevOps/Full Stack)

Core responsibilities:

• Provide technical support for members of working groups in areas such as renewable energy, carbon trading, forest monitoring, natural resource management, blockchain technology, and artificial intelligence
• Generate opportunities for strategic partnerships
• Attend conferences and events to promote the BCI, communicate research findings, and engage with key stakeholders
• Support end-to-end technical projects involving data-driven pipelines that deliver valuable insights

This role helps advance the application of blockchain and other emerging technologies to address climate change by supporting research, analysis, and strategic partnerships that inform decision-making in the climate action network.

Required skills and qualifications:

• Excellent oral communication and organizational skills with ability to work under pressure
• Strong technical skills including math, coding, and detail orientation
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Java/C#, JavaScript, R, Scala, Go)
• Strong knowledge or interest in climate change, climate finance, blockchain technology, and artificial intelligence
• Experience in software development or technical aspects of data-driven systems
• Proven ability in computing or math-related tasks of Agile technology projects
