UNPAID VOLUNTEER - Senior / Programme Officer

Core responsibilities:

• Design and execute a globally inclusive fellowship program that empowers innovators to develop real-world climate solutions using emerging technologies like blockchain and AI
• Lead global outreach, recruitment, and selection of diverse fellows from across disciplines and regions
• Manage the end-to-end fellowship experience including onboarding, mentorship, program delivery, and milestone tracking
• Organize and facilitate virtual events such as quarterly meetings, workshops, trainings, and project engagements

This role creates positive change by shaping the next generation of climate technologists and decentralized leaders who develop real-world climate solutions using emerging technologies like blockchain and AI, contributing to the global fight against climate change.

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred in climate, sustainability, blockchain, international development, or related field
• 4-6 years of experience in program or project management, ideally within global fellowships, leadership development, or innovation ecosystems
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, with ability to develop effective working relationships and communicate professionally with stakeholders
• Proficient in digital tools for remote collaboration and program delivery, with advanced Microsoft Office skills and basic knowledge of Airtable/Trello

The Blockchain & Climate Institute (BCI) is an international volunteer-led NGO supporting and advocating the application of emerging technology in the global fight against climate change, helping governments, inter-governmental organizations, and corporates negotiate the complex landscape of emerging technologies for environmental good.
