UNPAID VOLUNTEER - Legal Research Officer (Climate Change/Emerging Tech)

• Provide research support on topics around legislation or regulation regarding international climate and environment-related treaties
• Engage relevant stakeholders in the change and sustainability policy space for developing strategic partnerships or collaboration opportunities
• Communicate BCI's research findings and insights at international conferences or high-level events

This role supports legislators and policymakers to create an enabling environment for the adoption of distributed ledger technologies in the global fight against climate change, deepening legal research on the interaction between existing legal frameworks and innovative technologies.

• Excellent oral communication skills and ability to develop effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels
• Strong in-depth knowledge of climate change, UNFCCC processes, and public international laws related to climate change and environment
• Basic understanding of distributed ledger technology, token economy, smart contracts, and crypto-assets
• A degree in law is required; master's degree in International Environmental Law, Climate Policy, or Information Technology Law is highly desirable

• Refine existing skills or acquire new ones, including legal research, presentation, writing, and professional etiquette
• Enhance professional trajectory by building meaningful connections and gaining practical experience at the convergence of climate and emerging technologies
• Cultivate enduring professional relationships with individuals united in their mission to improve the world
• This is an unpaid volunteer role with a standard time commitment of one day per week flexibly spread across the week
