Underwriter (Home Improvement Loans)

• Review and assess all new finance applications to expected deadlines and within agreed mandate.
• Ensure applications are worked compliantly and efficiently to company policies, treating each customer as an individual.
• Proactively manage underwriting-related inbound communication via telephone, correspondence, email, and portal.
• Attain and maintain own competence to Training and Competence Scheme, adhering to FCA regulations and TCF principles.

This role ensures fair treatment of customers in lending decisions, supporting Tandem's mission to empower better financial choices and lower environmental impact through sustainable banking.

• Evidenced underwriting experience.
• Previous experience within UK-based financial services with relevant regulatory appreciation is desirable.
• Working knowledge of administrative tasks and call handling.
• Demonstrable knowledge of FCA rules, CCA, GDPR, and delivering fair customer outcomes.
