Undercover Investigator

• Conduct undercover investigations into the conditions of farmed animals, documenting evidence for legal advocacy, public education, and corporate campaigns.
• Perform online research, develop profiles of investigative targets, and gather information on corporate misconduct and animal welfare violations.
• Review footage, produce daily investigative logs, and testify at hearings and court proceedings as needed.
• Manage travel budgets, maintain sensitive equipment, and preserve confidentiality of all investigation matters.

This role directly exposes animal cruelty in factory farms, providing critical evidence to drive legal action, corporate policy changes, and public awareness, ultimately improving the welfare of billions of farmed animals.

• Full alignment with Animal Equality’s mission and culture principles; adherence to a vegan lifestyle.
• Ability to work independently while socially isolated and in harsh conditions (exposure to dead/dying animals, blood, feces, poor air quality, extreme noise).
• Excellent attention to detail and report writing skills; experience with farmed animals preferred.
• Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends, travel extensively for long periods, and maintain confidentiality.

Salary: $50,000–52,000 annually. Benefits include 100% employer-covered health, dental, vision insurance, paid child care leave, generous vacation, paid sick time, 1 paid volunteer day per year, 2 floating holidays, and 401(k) with partial employer match.
