How to Apply for UI/UX Designer, Mobile Care Companion

at Noora Health

🏢 About Noora Health

Noora Health is a nonprofit that empowers patients and families by providing accessible health information and tools. Their Care Companion app helps caregivers manage recovery at home, making a tangible difference in underserved communities. Working here means using design for social impact, with a focus on equity and real-world outcomes.

About This Role

As a UI/UX Designer for the Mobile Care Companion, you'll design interfaces for patients and families with varying health literacy and tech comfort. Your work directly impacts recovery outcomes by making complex health information intuitive and actionable. This role combines user research, prototyping, and close collaboration with healthcare experts to ensure designs are both usable and medically sound.

💡 A Day in the Life

Your day might start with a stand-up with product and engineering to align on upcoming features. You'll spend time in Figma iterating on wireframes based on feedback from a usability test conducted the day before. In the afternoon, you could be reviewing research findings from a study with caregivers, then sketching solutions to improve medication tracking. You'll also sync with a healthcare expert to verify that your design accurately reflects clinical guidelines.

🎯 Who Noora Health Is Looking For

  • Has a portfolio showcasing mobile health or similar complex B2C apps, with examples of simplifying dense information for non-expert users.
  • Proficient in Figma (preferred) and experienced with design systems and accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA).
  • Demonstrates user research skills, including remote testing with low-literacy or elderly populations.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment; able to iterate quickly based on feedback from clinicians and users.
