Tribal Partnership Program Director - Remote

Core responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary liaison between the organization and Tribal Nations and/or Indigenous organizations, cultivating trust-based relationships with Tribal leaders, staff, elders, and community members.
• Design and implement the Tribal Partnership Program's mission, vision, goals, and strategies in collaboration with internal leadership and Tribal partners.
• Track and analyze Tribal, state, and federal policy developments, and support TU's policy staff to advance shared interests via policy initiatives and advocacy campaigns.
• Collaborate with TU's development team to identify funding opportunities and support grant applications for Tribal initiatives.

This role creates positive change by developing meaningful and respectful partnerships with Tribal Nations and Indigenous Communities to sustain trout and salmon populations and their coldwater habitats, ensuring these resources survive for future generations while promoting sovereignty, cultural humility, and equity.

Required skills and qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in relevant field required (master's preferred), with professional experience in fisheries, ecology, hydrology, natural resource management, water resources, environmental policy, or similar field.
• Knowledge and familiarity with Tribal sovereignty, governance, and Federal Indian law and policy.
• Experience with project development, implementation, and management including partner coordination, securing funding, managing budgets, and reporting.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, superior interpersonal skills, and proficiency with Microsoft 365.
