Technology Director Job Position (March 2026) Until Justice Data Partner, UJDP (ujdp.org), a growing nonprofit, as a Technological Director. Formed in October 2020, UJDP is a service and solidarity-focused research and advocacy support organization. Rooted in the Jemez Principles for Democratic Organizing, we believe in the lived and technical experience of our community and grassroots partners. We aim to enable the collection, dissemination and use of community and institutional datasets. We are looking for someone to lead our tech support, project development and build-out, and to work with our community partners. The person in this position will be able to guide UJDP in the expansion of the technological team, based on needs. This is a great opportunity to work with a reputable organization with trusted community partnerships for over 15 years. The Director should be a dynamic individual who can work independently and in collaboration with our organizational partners. They should excel in building and sustaining relationships and have strong planning skills. Creativity, drive and a sense of purpose are necessary to engage our expanding technological work to provide free and accessible data. Good communication skills are a must, both within UJDP, with our partner organizations and our community partners. By joining our community, the Director will have the opportunity to work with academically and community researchers, policy experts, organizers, lawyers, technical experts and advocates from our local, regional, national and international partners. The Director will work on projects, including FencelineData.org and work on the Nextcloud platform and the 1984 hosting server. Your work and efforts will help find the root causes of injustices, sustain and build data tools, prevent and respond to natural and chemical disasters, and normalize the use of data in advocacy and community education. You will directly work to make sure data is free and accessible. Responsibilities, duties, skills and qualifications are below. Pay $40/hour with the possibility for an increase, as funding allows. Technological Director Responsibilities & Duties Provide oversight of the UJDP’s information systems solutions and be responsible for the identification/integration of new technology solutions, among other duties. Serve as webmaster for the UJDP website, the community space, NextCloud and the 1984 server Participation in the FencelineData.org Project Management Committee (PMC) Represent UJDP’s commitments to technological grant deliverables (ex: working with community partners to create a secure space for them on Nextcloud). Helps to outline deliverables and concrete tasks Work in collaboration with other members of the UJDP team. Maintains communication between UJDP and PMC, giving necessary updates to both parties . Provide assistance and participation in meetings where DataKind hands over the tech work for FencelineData.org to UJDP and other Fenceline Partners. Attends technical knowledge transfer meetings with the consortium Contributes to meetings, representing UJDP technical interests and needs Maintains communication with other members of UJDP on technical development updates Helps UJDP to determine additional needed capacity to support technical ownership transition Work with the UJDP Director of Development and Strategic Planning to provide insight into fundraising needs to expand and sustain the UJDP technological work. Work closely with tech support from Nextcloud and the 1984 hosting server to maintain product stability. Experience as an end-user services manager or end-user work. Help answer submitted end-user questions, in collaboration with our partners. Technological Director Qualifications & Skills Relevant Bachelor’s Degree Experience in a work environment within a collaborative setting.
