How to Apply for Technical Support Consultants, Expression of Interest

at DT Global

๐Ÿข About DT Global

DT Global Asia Pacific is a purpose-driven organization focused on delivering locally led solutions across the Pacific and Timor-Leste, with over 60 years of development experience and a presence in 22+ countries. Working here means contributing to meaningful, long-term social and economic growth, while collaborating with diverse teams and stakeholders to tackle complex challenges.

About This Role

This role is part of the Pacific Australia Skills program, which strengthens skills and training sectors across the Pacific and Timor-Leste. As a Technical Support Consultant, you'll be on a roster for short-term, on-call assignments, providing advisory, coordination, analytical, and writing support to drive impactful outcomes in education and workforce development.

๐Ÿ’ก A Day in the Life

A typical day might involve logging into a virtual meeting with Pacific stakeholders to discuss a training needs assessment, then drafting a technical report or policy brief. You might also coordinate with other consultants to align outputs, review data, and prepare recommendations for the program's leadership, all while managing your own schedule across different time zones.

๐Ÿ“ Tips for Applying to DT Global

1

Tailor your CV to highlight specific experience with skills development programs in Pacific or Timor-Leste contexts, using concrete examples of your impact.

2

In your cover letter, directly address the roster nature of the role, emphasizing your availability and flexibility for short-term on-call assignments.

3

Research the Pacific Australia Skills program and DT Global's approach to locally led solutions, and incorporate that language into your application.

4

Clearly list your technical skills (e.g., monitoring and evaluation, curriculum development, policy analysis) and any relevant language capabilities (e.g., French, Tetum) in a dedicated section.

5

Since the role is remote, demonstrate your experience working effectively with virtual teams and managing your own time across different time zones.

โœ‰๏ธ What to Emphasize in Your Cover Letter

- Emphasize your commitment to the program's goals of strengthening skills training in the Pacific and Timor-Leste. - Highlight your ability to quickly adapt to different assignments and provide high-quality support in short-term, on-call scenarios. - Showcase your collaborative skills and experience working with governments, communities, and stakeholders in cross-cultural settings. - Mention any specific technical expertise that aligns with the program's focus areas, such as vocational training, labor market analysis, or institutional capacity building.
