Position Summary:
The Team Product Manager is an individual contributor responsible for maximizing the value delivered by a dedicated engineering team by translating group-level product strategy and business objectives into clear, actionable, and prioritized work for a dedicated delivery team. The Team Product Manager serves as the primary liaison between the Group Product Manager, Engineering, and key stakeholders, ensuring that the team is consistently focused on the highest value outcomes. This role involves driving delivery excellence and ensuring strong execution.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Translate high-level product strategy and vision into a prioritized team backlog
Own and maintain the product backlog, ensuring it is continuously refined, prioritized, and ready for development
Manage multiple concurrent product deliverables across various phases of ideation, execution, and delivery
Partner with the Group Product Manager and cross-functional teams to break down Product Requirements Documents (PRDs) into detailed product specifications that clarify and accelerate development work.
Write, refine, and manage user stories/issues, detailed requirements, and acceptance criteria in Jira
Serve as the day-to-day decision authority for the team during spring execution, making trade-offs to maintain scope, quality, and delivery commitments
Act as the in-sprint product voice for the team, providing clarification and decision-making support
Participate actively in all Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
Review and accept completed user stories, ensuring they meet defined acceptance criteria and quality standards
Manage product launches by owning release readiness, release notes, and supporting launch communications in partnership with Product Ops and Product Leadership
Ability to define success metrics, partner with Business Intelligence to instrument measurements, and use data to validate outcomes post-launch
Required Abilities and Skills:
Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies with proficiency in Jira or similar product management tools
Ability to write clear, detailed requirements and break down complex PRDs into actionable specifications
Excellent ability to plan backwards, prioritize work, and make real-time decisions to balance competing demands and manage multiple concurrent deliverables
Strong written and verbal communication skills to create comprehensive documentation, articulate, and evangelize product decisions
Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail to maintain and refine backlogs continuously
Collaborative mindset to work effectively within cross-functional teams and serve as a leader and liaison for technical teams and stakeholders
Critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities to translate strategic vision into tactical execution plans
Accountability for deliverable quality and target outcomes with ability to define and validate acceptance criteria and quality standards
Education and Experience:
2 to 6 years of product management, product owner, or product analyst job experience in web applications, APIs, and platforms.
Experience and success in owning a product feature end-to-end. Personal experience building and launching products is a plus.
Experience using Figma, Claude, GitHub Copilot, or similar AI-assisted development and prototyping tools
Experience with Jira or similar tools is a plus.ย
Experience in developing and driving alignment around a vision, setting goals, and initiating and driving projects to completion with minimal guidance.
Experience in conducting customer research and analytics to understand customer sentiment and pain points and leveraging them to make product decisions.ย Customers here may be third-party business clients but is also likely to include internal business stakeholders.
Working knowledge of Databricks, SQL, Tableau, APIs, Postman, and/or AWS systems like S3 is a plus.
Domain knowledge in energy efficiency, solar/storage, or electric utilities is a plus. B2B software experiences are also helpful.
Bachelorโs degree preferred.
