Sustainable Development Officer

Core responsibilities:

• Participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of assigned programmes/projects on institutions, public administration, sustainable development, digital transformation and AI transformation issues
• Develops sustainable development and digital transformation databases and qualitative information required for assignments
• Drafts inputs for technical papers, concept notes, policy papers, analytical studies and reports on sustainable development and digital/AI transformation issues
• Assists in planning, organizing, facilitating, and servicing expert group meetings, seminars, workshops on sustainable development and digital/AI transformation issues

This role helps countries strengthen their public administration capacities to translate the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into institutional arrangements, strategies and programmes at the country level, contributing to more inclusive, transparent and accountable implementation of sustainable development objectives.

Required qualifications:

• Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in sustainable development, economics, public policy, public administration, governance, finance, business administration, natural resources management, engineering, law, social sciences, computer science, data science, information systems or related field
• Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in project/programme management and policy-oriented work in sustainable development, public administration, and governance issues
• Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in digital transformation and artificial intelligence within governance or sustainable development contexts
• Experience in organization and substantive servicing of capacity-building workshops, expert group meetings, seminars on sustainable development, public administration, and governance issues
