Strategy & Operations Senior Manager, Security & Risk Operations

Core responsibilities:

• Lead the strategic evaluation, prioritisation and implementation of new physical and information security initiatives and programs to mitigate emerging risks to Google DeepMind, with key focus on robotics and science.
• Proactively identify and drive opportunities to mitigate risks using creative techniques and championing the adoption of AI tools to enhance security and operational efficiency while minimizing impact on critical research.
• Build excellent relationships with Google physical and information security teams and collaborate with various internal teams to meet security requirements.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders across Google DeepMind and Google, providing expert guidance on complex security and risk management issues.

This role creates positive change by ensuring the security and safety of cutting-edge AI research at Google DeepMind, enabling the development of transformative AI technologies that solve complex global challenges while prioritizing safety and ethics.

Required skills and experience:

• 10+ years of experience in security and risk management with a proven track record of leading complex, cross-functional security programs, including a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
• Demonstrable track-record of building strong working relationships that deliver tangible outcomes to mitigate risks.
• Strategic problem-solver who can thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with ability to develop innovative solutions to complex security challenges.
• Excellent program-management skills with experience delivering complex projects at scale, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Compensation and benefits include:

• Base salary range: $153,000 - $227,000
