Stewardship Officer

Core responsibilities:

• Manage pre-award activities including grant applications, budget development, and compliance with agency guidelines
• Support compliance and procurement processes including vendor contracts, subawards, and regulatory requirements
• Handle business operations including staff training, system enhancements, and cross-team collaboration
• Perform grant accounting and management including invoicing, financial reporting, expense monitoring, and grant reconciliation

This role supports Trout Unlimited's conservation projects by ensuring efficient grant management and operations, enabling the organization to deliver best-in-class conservation outcomes for rivers, fisheries, and clean water that communities depend on.

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or related field with 2+ years of relevant experience
• Understanding of non-profit grant accounting functions and experience with grant preparation and management
• Knowledge of federal regulations (FAR, OMB Circulars, AIDAR) and OMB Uniform Guidance for Federal Grants
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, strong organizational skills, and ability to work in fast-paced team environment
