Staff Scientist - Computational Biology

Core responsibilities:

• Drive and support the scientific design, analysis, and interpretation of computational and single-cell biology projects
• Ensure high methodological standards across the lab, including reproducibility, robust workflows, and shared best practices
• Contribute to collaborative research initiatives & grants and help shape the lab's scientific strategy
• Provide mentoring and guidance to PhD students and postdocs as part of an integrated research environment

This role contributes to groundbreaking solutions for a healthier society by developing computational methods and models that accelerate the transfer of new ideas from the lab to real-life applications, improving lives through biomedical research.

Required qualifications:

• PhD in computational biology, bioinformatics, computer science, mathematics, biomedical sciences, or a related field
• Strong expertise in machine learning, AI, and computational data analysis
• Solid understanding of biological and biomedical concepts, particularly in genomics, transcriptomics, or single-cell technologies
• Proven experience supervising, mentoring, or coordinating interdisciplinary research teams
• Practical experience with modern scientific computing frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, JAX, scikit-learn) and reproducible workflow tools
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong communication abilities, and a collaborative mindset
