Mission
What you will drive
Core responsibilities:
- Serve as lead counsel or co-counsel in impact litigation, amicus briefs, and special legal projects for the Students' Civil Rights Project
- Participate in full litigation responsibilities including legal research, briefing, oral arguments, client communications, and settlement negotiations
- Develop and engage in legal advocacy through and outside the courts including reviewing legislation, drafting comments, and coordinating with communications teams
- Build networks and collaborate with allies to fight discrimination in educational institutions and civil rights law interpretation

What makes you a great fit
Required qualifications:
- J.D. degree with at least five years of relevant litigation and advocacy experience (including clerkships or fellowships)
- Excellent analytical, legal research, writing, and public speaking skills with ability to adapt for different audiences
- Experience as lead drafter of briefs in trial and appellate courts
- Litigation experience with progressively increasing case management responsibilities
- Admission to a state bar and willingness to gain DC bar admission if not based in DC
