What you will drive

Core responsibilities:

  • Advise and represent clients in healthcare related cases, including Medicaid, Medicare, and Health Insurance Marketplace
  • Conduct factual investigations by calling clients and gathering information and documentation
  • Assist clients with applications and filing of appeals
  • Represent clients in Medicaid eligibility hearings and fair hearings involving Medicaid services
  • Develop self-help and advocacy tools to expand access to healthcare and coverage
  • Develop and conduct CLE trainings for attorneys regarding Medicaid cases

Required qualifications:

  • Full-time Florida resident
  • JD from an ABA accredited law school
  • Member of the Florida Bar
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in legal practice
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent research skills with proficiency in Westlaw
  • Proactive work ethic and strong organizational skills
  • Cultural competency when working with diverse populations

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English)
  • Experience with healthcare law, public benefits, or administrative law
  • Experience working with low-income and underserved populations
  • Experience reviewing medical records
  • Proficiency with PowerPoint, Canva, and Legal Server
  • Court e-filing experience
