Staff Attorney

• Support successful prosecution of public interest environmental litigation, including research, drafting pleadings and briefs, and presenting oral arguments.
• Participate in development of new cases, fostering client relationships, and setting legal strategies.
• Perform tasks such as Freedom of Information Act requests, administrative appeals, counseling clients, and working with scientific experts.

This role directly protects the American West's public lands, wildlife, and ecosystems through strategic litigation, ensuring conservation and community health for future generations.

• J.D. and admission to a state bar in one of eleven western states (or ability to become admitted).
• 2 to 5 years of relevant legal experience post-law school.
• Broad knowledge of federal environmental laws and federal court procedures.
• Excellent litigation skills including legal research, writing, and oral advocacy.
