Staff Accountant

Core responsibilities:

• Ensure accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial records and reporting
• Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions, including invoicing, collections tracking, and payment processing
• Complete monthly close procedures and prepare financial statements
• Maintain vendor records and administer purchasing card program

This role supports Outward Bound USA's mission to expand access to transformative outdoor learning experiences for young people by ensuring strong financial stewardship and transparency, which enables the organization to fund scholarships and initiatives that remove barriers to participation for historically underserved communities.

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance, ideally within a non-profit organization
• Experience with financial systems such as QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, or similar platforms
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite

Compensation and benefits:

• Annual salary range: $68,500 - $75,700
• Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, and retirement plan with employer match
• 15 days of paid time off (PTO) per year, plus 10 federal holidays and 1 week of paid time off during the last week of the year
• Remote work environment with less than 5% travel required
