What you will drive
- Research & Analysis (60%)
- Track and analyze new research, polling, and data related to our programmatic issues.
- Produce regular reports and insight for senior leadership.
- Develop data-informed recommendations to strengthen messaging and executive spokesperson strategy.
- Analyze and synthesize complex research and data into digestible content for thought leadership.
- Quickly respond to and deliver analysis and briefings as needed by the President and VP, PAC to support our external positioning.
- External Partnership & Engagement (10%)
- Maintain strong networks and regularly work with external partners to gather latest research and new ideas related to our programmatic work.
- Collect and monitor external research
- Strategic Briefing & Cross-Team Collaboration (20%)
- Draft briefing memos based on compiled research across issue areas.
- Collaborate across Litigation, Communications, and Policy and Legislation teams to gather latest updates and brief the President as needed.
- Serve as the liaison to gather relevant information from program teams for thought leadership and development deliverables as needed.
- Administrative and Professional Development (10%)
- Attend and contribute to team meetings, support project management, and collaborate across the department on knowledge sharing and content planning.
- Attend events, webinars, and trainings as professional development.
- Attend internal DEI learning opportunities to increase awareness of creating a diverse, inclusive and equitable work environment.
- Ongoing Learning
- Actively pursue professional development and contribute to a culture of learning by building skills and sharing knowledge. Maintain an ongoing understanding of innovative, best-in-class communications best practices and movement trends to ensure Earthjustice leads, not just follows.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, political science, public policy, or a related field or comparable work experience.
- 4+ years in media monitoring, communications research, public affairs, or related field, and familiarity with environmental, social justice, or public interest advocacy communications.
- Demonstrated experience analyzing trends and synthesizing findings into strategic recommendations.
- Strong research skills, including experience conducting policy research.
- Experience analyzing and communicating data.
- Experience drafting memos, message guidance, or strategic communications materials.
- Experience working with executive leadership.
- Ability to translate complex issues into compelling, accessible communications.
- Ability to prioritize, manage multiple deadlines, and respond quickly to new opportunities and developments.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other staff to meet shared cross-team goals and give honest, constructive, respectful feedback.

- Salary range in Washington, D.C. $104,200 - $115,800
Other salaries will vary by location:
- Salary range in San Francisco, CA and New York, NY: $109,600 - $121,800
- Salary range in Chicago, IL, Seattle, WA, and Los Angeles, CA: $104,200 - $115,800
- Salary range in Denver, CO and Philadelphia, PA : $98,700 - $109,700
- Salary range in Miami, FL, Bozeman, MT, and New Orleans, LA: $93,200 - $103,600
- Remote salary range will vary in other locations: $93,200 - $115,800
