Sr Database Admin/Engineer

The Senior Database Administrator/Engineer will:

• Install, configure, upgrade, administer, and monitor enterprise database systems including Oracle, SQL Server, and cloud platforms
• Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance database architectures for both on-prem and cloud environments
• Manage database performance through tuning, optimization, and capacity planning
• Provide guidance, mentor staff, and act as technical escalation point for the database team

This role supports Republic Services' mission to advance circularity and support decarbonization by ensuring reliable and efficient database systems that enable the company's environmental services operations and sustainability initiatives.

Required qualifications include:

• Minimum 5 years experience with relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL)
• Minimum 2 years experience with NoSQL databases (DynamoDB, MongoDB, Hadoop)
• Minimum 2 years experience with cloud environments (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
• Expert knowledge of performance tuning, query execution plans, stored procedures, and database architectural design
