Software Engineering Researcher

• Propose, contribute to and lead research projects related to creating, deploying, and assessing new software development methodologies, processes and tools to increase SW development productivity.
• Through software engineering research, improve software development practices in both product development and research tool development, including development of AI/ML solutions.
• Select and assess commercial tools or develop custom SW engineering tooling specific for Hitachi Energy needs.
• Collaborate with a global team of researchers and engineers in Hitachi Energy Research and Hitachi Energy business units to identify and solve real-world challenges.

You will combine theory with practice, creating, testing and validating new technologies to enable the energy transition.

• PhD degree in software engineering or related field.
• Deep familiarity with modern SW development methodologies.
• Deep familiarity with several programming languages and paradigms.
• Experience with different variants of modern SW development lifecycle tooling.
• SW engineering research and publication track record and experience with design of experiments and their statistical analysis.
• Some SW development experience, ideally in a product development environment.
