Mission

What you will drive

  • Maintain and augment the automation and services responsible for operating Planet's satellites, including specifying and implementing new HTTP APIs, evaluating software technologies, and designing critical infrastructure.
  • Contribute to a team that values open communication, collaboration, and self-learning to solve problems.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (Satellite Operations, Ground Operations, Pipeline, Product) to ensure the satellite constellation meets mission needs.

Profile

What makes you a great fit

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or similar.
  • 4+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Proficiency in Python programming and API design.
  • Experience with automated testing, code review, documentation, relational databases (e.g., Postgres, MySQL), CI/CD workflows (e.g., GitLab CI, Docker), and Linux.
