Software Engineer (Junior & Mid-level)

Core responsibilities:

• Work collaboratively in a small cross-functional squad (engineers, product, design) to build features that power Ofload's core platform.
• Develop and maintain high-quality, scalable backend services using PHP 8, Laravel, and REST APIs, and contribute to front-end components in TypeScript + React (depending on experience).
• Contribute to code reviews, write clean and maintainable code, and continuously improve engineering standards and practices.
• Write and maintain meaningful automated tests to ensure high-quality and reliable releases.

This role contributes to transforming the freight industry by reducing empty truck miles, improving visibility, and optimizing supply chains, driving smarter, greener, and more efficient operations that benefit businesses and the environment.

Required skills and experience:

• For Junior: 1-2 years of commercial experience building web applications, experience with backend languages/frameworks (PHP/Laravel, Ruby/Rails, Python/Django, NodeJS), some front-end experience or willingness to learn React/TypeScript.
• For Mid: 2-5 years experience building production systems, solid PHP/Laravel experience or strong expertise in another backend ecosystem, practical TypeScript/React experience, experience with relational databases and API-driven systems.
• Across both levels: Passion for building great products, problem-solving mindset, strong communication skills, curiosity and eagerness to learn, alignment with Ofload's mission.
