How to Apply for Software Engineer

at HITACHI ENERGY

🏢 About HITACHI ENERGY

Hitachi Energy is a global leader in advancing sustainable energy systems, committed to a carbon-neutral future. Working here means contributing to cutting-edge energy solutions that have a real impact on climate change. The company's focus on innovation and sustainability makes it an inspiring place for engineers who want to make a difference.

About This Role

As a Software Engineer on the MMS (possibly Market Management System) team, you'll design and develop software components that help manage energy markets and grid operations. Your work directly supports the reliability and efficiency of modern energy systems. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you'll build and test complex validation rules and ensure high-quality software delivery.

💡 A Day in the Life

A typical day might start with a stand-up meeting with your cross-functional team, then you'll dive into coding new features for the MMS module, such as implementing a complex validation rule in Java. After lunch, you might troubleshoot a reported issue, write unit tests, and participate in a code review. The day often ends with documenting your work and planning next steps with the technical lead.

🎯 Who HITACHI ENERGY Is Looking For

  • Demonstrates ability to write complex validation rules, troubleshoot technical issues, and optimize performance in a Waterfall/Agile development environment.
  • Proven track record in unit testing, integration testing, and participating in code reviews to ensure high-quality software.
