Software Engineer Backend & Infra

Core responsibilities:

• Design and develop the backend of internal applications, delivering 1-2 major projects per quarter including requirement definition, technical specification, implementation, testing, and user demonstrations
• Maintain operational conditions of backend applications including software dependency updates, user support, bug fixes, and system monitoring
• Maintain operational infrastructure (approximately 20% of time) including AWS cloud infrastructure and edge infrastructure, ensuring 99% availability during production hours

This role contributes directly to FAIRMAT's mission of eliminating carbon fiber landfill by developing technologies that transform how teams work daily, supporting the creation of a circular ecosystem that preserves advanced materials.

Required skills and qualifications:

• Experience with backend development languages and structured data modeling (Go and Postgres experience preferred but not required)
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS), container orchestration (Kubernetes), and infrastructure as code (Terraform)
• Ability to work with monitoring tools (Grafana/Prometheus) and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions)
• Motivation to learn and adapt to various technologies including VueJS, Ansible, dbt, and Metabase
