What you will drive
Core responsibilities:
- Create written material to clarify Google DeepMind's approach to AI safety and AGI preparedness for key opinion formers and the public
- Translate rigorous technical safety evaluations and policy positions into clear, trustworthy communications across blogs, op-eds, speeches, case studies, and social media
- Document and explain work in model safety, AI ethics, and responsibility in ways accessible to global audiences
- Develop editorial strategy and manage production across multiple formats and platforms while ensuring alignment with editorial principles

Required skills and experience:
- 5+ years in policy communications, technical writing, or journalism with focus on AI safety/responsibility, technology policy, or cybersecurity
- Strong ability to read and understand technical research papers and convey complex technical information clearly to diverse audiences
- Portfolio demonstrating ability to explain complex topics with clarity and elegance
- Ability to manage multiple writing projects simultaneously with tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
