Senior Town Planner - Policy

Core responsibilities:

• Lead and assist on key planning policy projects, including supporting local authority policy and strategy development, coordination and delivery of local plan evidence studies, strategic growth studies, infrastructure strategies and other policy and strategy commissions.
• Offer strategic planning advice to other client and internal teams, and provide effective representation for the organization, developing and managing relationships with clients, local authorities and other stakeholders.
• Ensure projects are delivered successfully on budget and within programme timelines, and assist in coordinating multi-disciplinary teams for seamless project execution.
• Contribute to the business development strategy, nurturing client relationships, and lead and assist in the preparation of commercial tenders to secure new opportunities.

This role creates positive change by working on key planning policy projects that shape sustainable communities and infrastructure, contributing to large-scale development and regeneration projects that create places where people want to live and invest over the long term.

Required skills and experience:

• Senior-level planning expertise with experience in planning policy projects, local authority policy development, and strategic growth studies.
• Strong project management skills to deliver projects on budget and within timelines, and ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary teams.
• Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience representing an organization at conferences and networking events.
• Business development experience, including preparing commercial tenders and contributing to business development strategies.
